January 28, 2022: Shelbourne FC has today announced a new agreement with Pro-Tect Design and Technology to provide vital equipment for Tolka Park as our new Clean Air Partner. 

As part of the agreement, Shelbourne FC will now use the state-of-the-art MedicAir® air purification system to provide a safe and clean environment within our dressing rooms and The Tolka Bar to ensure clean air for our staff, players, guests and supporters. 

MedicAir® uses medical grade purification technology to purify air and has been independently tested by world accredited labs and is used in thousands of leading healthcare facilities globally.

January 28, 2022: Shelbourne FC can confirm player Ciara Grant has moved to Rangers Women’s Football Club. 

Ciara moves having been an integral part of our FAI Women’s National League title success in 2022 as well as scoring in the FAI Women’s Cup Final. 

In her two years at Shels, Ciara has broken into the Republic of Ireland Women’s National Team and is on course to helping the team to a significant FIFA World Cup campaign. 

Everyone at the Club wishes Ciara further success in Scotland and thanks her sincerely for her major contribution to Shelbourne FC over the past two seasons. 

Speaking on her departure, Ciara said: “I would really like to thank everyone in Shelbourne for everything they have done for me over the last two seasons, it hasn’t been easy with COVID but the work going on behind the scenes is really starting to pay off. I wish all the staff and players the best for the upcoming season and hoping another league title arrives in Tolka.”

January 26, 2022: Shelbourne FC has today announced a new sponsorship agreement with Ireland’s leading gym, FLYEfit.

As part of the partnership, the FLYEfit brand will feature on our Women’s National League U17 and U19 team’s kits as well as display signage at Tolka Park for our SSE Airtricity League Premier Division and FAI Women’s National League games.

FLYEfit, whose mission is to make fitness accessible to everyone, will be the headline sponsor for our annual Summer Camp which will feature extensive digital branding and brand placement on official Summer Camp gear.

Shelbourne FC is delighted to announce the loan-signing of goalkeeper Lewis Webb from Swansea City FC. 

Lewis is a Wales Under-21 international goalkeeper and arrived at Swansea after making 17 first-team appearances for Martyrs. 

.

Webb previously spent time in the youth ranks at Cardiff and Newport, as well as Welsh side Chepstow Town.

He featured regularly for the under-23s in all competitions during the 2019-20 season, while he also made the same number of appearances for the under-18s side.

Handed his first professional deal in the summer of 2020, Lewis has been a regular part of the matchday and travelling parties throughout Swansea City’s Championship season.

After an appearance in the win over Millwall in October, he signed a long-term deal at Swansea by putting pen to paper on a new deal through to the summer of 2024 before signing for Shelbourne for 2022.

Shelbourne FC Men’s First Team Head Coach Damien Duff said: “Lewis fits the profile of goalkeeper that we want at Shelbourne FC. He has enormous potential and has shown his hunger by coming to the League of Ireland from Swansea. He is a great addition as it is important that we have competition in every position in the squad.”

Shelbourne FC announce formation of Independent Supporters Committee 

Shelbourne FC has today announced the formation of the club’s first Independent Supporters Committee ahead of the 2022 season.

The Independent Supporters Committee (ISC) has been set up to enhance dialogue between the club and supporters, to understand all relevant matters affecting Shelbourne Football Club supporters and to ensure input from fans into the strategic long term direction of the club.

The Independent Supporters Committee (ISC) will consist of 12 members, drawn from all of the major constituencies amongst our supporter base, who will engage directly with club officials and senior leadership. One of the primary objectives of the Independent Supporters Committee (ISC) is to foster honest, constructive and consistent lines of communication between the fanbase and Shelbourne Football Club.

The formation of the Independent Supporters Committee (ISC) will be guided by best practice principles from groups like Football Supporters’ Association and Supporters Direct Europe, as well as clubs in the UK and Europe who have also developed Independent Supporter Committees, Supporter Advisory Boards or similar independent representative groups for fans.

In the coming weeks, the club will engage directly with organised supporter groups around the formation of the Independent Supporters Committee (ISC). Shelbourne FC is delighted to announce the signing of forward Sean McSweeney from Treaty United ahead of the 2022 season. 

The Limerick native arrives from Treaty having previously played with Limerick FC and arrives to further bolster Shels’ attacking options. 

Sean scored six times with numerous assists for the Limerick outfit last year and previously helped Limerick FC to the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division and helped Treaty make the Play-Offs last season in their first ever season.

The 24-year-old is a striker who can play in numerous positions across the front. 

Shelbourne FC Men’s First Team Head Coach Damien Duff said: “We are delighted that Sean has joined this young exciting group. He has a great presence up front, is very technical and can play a number of positions. We believe that he can add another dimension to our attacking play”

Shelbourne FC is delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Amanda McQuillan who returns to Shelbourne after three years in the US. 

Amanda returns to Tolka Park with an FAI Women’s National League and FAI Women’s Cup already on her CV. 

The 23-year-old is well known in Reds circles and has spent the past three seasons in the US on scholarship with Central Connecticut State University. 

The Dubliner has featured at Irish Underage level on many occasions and has been part of senior Republic of Ireland camps. 

Amanda played previously with Raheny United before playing with Shelbourne before her move stateside and brings UEFA Women’s Champions League experience with her too.

After signing for Shels, Amanda McQuillan said: “The plans that the Club have now are really exciting and we’re really focused on the year ahead. I watched every Shels game I could when in the US and it’s great to be back. The standard in the league is constantly getting better and it should be a brilliant league this year. But I want to get into the squad, have a good Champions League run and look to be successful in the league again.”

Shelbourne FC is delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Megan Smyth-Lynch from Peamount United. 

The 24-year-old attacking midfielder joins Shels having previously been with the Reds in 2015 and several successful years at Peamount. 

Megan has won two FAI Women’s National League titles and one FAI Women’s Cup and is capped at numerous international underage levels. 

Megan also brings valuable UEFA Women’s Champions League experience ahead of the Reds’ voyage into Europe in Summer 2022. 

Speaking on Megan’s arrival, Shelbourne FC Women’s First Team Head Coach Noel King said:  “I see Megan as a great capture – she has a cultured left foot that can create chances and score goals – As a former Shelbourne star she is familiar with  the players, and I believe our style of play  will suit her talents and bring the best out in her
