It’s a busy weekend for the club with the 1st team away to Sligo Rovers in the first pre-season game under new boss Kevin.

The 19’s are on Home territory against Letterkenny Rovers on Saturday, with 2pm Ko in Stella Maris’s ground.

Murray’s crew brought a deserving three points back from Finn Harps last Saturday, while Letterkenny suffered a 3-2 defeat away to Longford and unfortunately finished the game with nine players.

The 19’s also had a 3-2 win over the Leinster FA on Wednesday evening. The New group have hit the ground running and only Eoghan Dempsey – with long term injury – is missing. Conor Keeley and Andrew Ward are back in contention this week.

Martin has also confirmed he will be in a position to announce two new signings in the next twenty four hours, to bring his squad back up to full compliment.

Dylan McGlade Re-Signs

Dylan McGlade is an attacking midfielder who started playing football with Swords Rovers before moving to Malahide United. He also had a season with Home Farm before joining Shelbourne’s Under 13 team. He played his football with the Reds until being scouted – and signing – for Middlesbrough in 2011, as a 16 year old.

Dylan spent two seasons at Boro, picking up two major injuries in that time, which curtailed his playing time, before being released in June 2013. Dylan returned home and pondered on his future before deciding to return to Shelbourne and sign for Martin Murray’s Under 19 side, making his debut for them against Athlone Town on October 19th. He played in two further league games in 2013, before picking up a bad injury in a cup game against Fanad United in mid-November, which kept him out of action for some months.

However, he recovered well and joined Johnny Mac’s squad early in the 2014 season. Not having had a pre-season, Dylan found it hard to break into a fairly successful team, and so his appearances during the season were limited.

Dylan is the holder of multiple International caps at underage level.

McGlades signing brings to20 the players that manager Kevin Doherty has signed ahead of the 2015 Season.

Goalkeepers: Greg Murray, David Ryan

Defenders: Simon Dixon, Ryan Robinson, Adam O’Connor, Darragh Gannon, Evan Osam, Alan Kehoe

Midfielders: Gareth Coughlan, Jake Donnelly, Aaron Robinson, Dylan McGlade, Daire Doyle, Jordan Keegan, Colm Crowe, Craig Walsh, Conor Earley

Forwards: Philip Hughes, Alan O’Sullivan, Mark Sandford

He made two senior appearances in the 2012 season.

The following season, he was an established member of the senior squad and played in 26 league games, helping the Co. Wicklow side to avaoid relegation with a win in an end-of-season playoff against Longford Town.
