Sustainability

Shelbourne FC has launched the world’s first forest dedicated to a football club – the Red Wood, as part of a significantly expanded partnership with Cloudforests, a leading Irish climate action company focused on forest creation and environmental protection.

The Red Wood will grow through 2022 and beyond with a tree being planted with every goal that Shelbourne’s Men’s and Women’s teams score next year.

This significant partnership means Shelbourne fans and players will directly impact the reduction of C02 emissions in Ireland helping it meet its Climate Action Goals. The Red Wood will be created using Native Irish Trees such as Oak, Rowan, Alder and Birch.

The Red Wood will be located in Co.Clare, along the Wild Atlantic Way, one of Ireland’s most scenic and spectacular attractions. Trees in The Red Wood will be available to gift or purchase by Shels fans.

Shels fans can buy their piece of history here while also helping the environment.

One Goal = One Tree

The forest will grow every time Shels score, with a new tree planted each time Shelbourne find the net in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division and the Women’s National League.

Attendance = Trees Planted

Shelbourne fans have the opportunity to directly impact the reduction of C02 emissions in Ireland, as we will plant one tree for every 500 fans attending home games next season.

Digital Tree Planting Cert

Every fan who purchases (or is gifted) a Gift Tree will receive a digital Cloudforests tree planting certificate, once they fill out the form above and activate their tree. They will also receive regular updates about their tree.
