Shelbourne FC notes the decision announced this evening by the FAI Disciplinary Committee in relation to our game against Wexford FC last Friday, September 22. We sympathise with Wexford on what was an administrative error.
It is now time to look forward to our final two games of the season. The first being the Leinster Senior Cup final in Oriel Park next Wednesday, October 4, followed closely by our final league game of the year against Cabinteely on Saturday, October 7 in Tolka.
A win in both of those games would finish the season off nicely, so it would be great to see as many of you as possible out to support the Club.

WEXFORD FC 1 (Danny Doyle 76′)
SHELBOURNE 1 (James Brown 44′)
Five days after this game, the FAI issued the following Press Release ”
The FAI Disciplinary Committee has ruled that Wexford FC be fined and forfeit their recent game against Shelbourne in the SSE Airtricity League First Division.
Wexford fielded an ineligible player in the clash with Shelbourne on Friday, September 22 at Ferrycarrig Park and therefore the original 1-1 result is now deemed to be a 3-0 victory to Shelbourne.
Final Whistle report, with thanks to sseairtricity ie
Substitute Danny Doyle rescued a point Wexford FC by grabbing a 76th equaliser against Shelbourne at Ferrycarrig Park. Moments after entering the fray the teenager was in the right place to nod to the net from close range after Owen McCormack had headed a Dean Kelly corner back across goal.
The visitors had taken the lead just before the interval when Dayle Rooney played a through ball into the path of James Brown and he lofted a beautiful lob over the head of goalkeeper Colum Feeney that nestled in the back of the net.
Shelburne tried hard to wrest back the initiative after Wexford’s equaliser, with Dayle Rooney within the width of a coat of paint of restoring the lead when his shot came back off the underside of the bar.
Moments later James English forced a decent save out of Feeney, but the hosts held firm to pick up a point from their final home game of the season.
Wexford FC : Colum Feeney, Craig McCabe, Sean Hurley, Ross Kenny, Owen McCormack, Thomas Croke (Shane Dunne 60′), Mark Slater, Conor Sutton, Adam O’Rourke (Danny Doyle 76′), Mikey Byrne (Dean Kelly 60′), Adam Hanlon
Subs not used : Aaron O’Connor, Dean George, AJ Lehane, Adam Dempsey.
Shelbourne : Dean Delany, James Brown, Alan Byrne, Aidan Collins, Derek Prendergast, Adam Evans, Dylan Kavanagh, James O’Brien (Chris Lyons 81′), David O’Leary, Dayle Rooney, Jamie Doyle (James English 70′)
