Congratulations to Shelbourne’s Kelan Gaffney, who has been called into the Ireland Under 17 International training camp.

Goalkeeper Gaffney plays for Stephen Finn’s Shelbourne Under 17 Elite team in the SSE Airtricity League, Northern Division, having progressed from the Shelbourne Youth Academy.

Congratulations and Well Done, Kelan. All the hard work is paying off.

In Phoenix Football Club’s home of Martin Savage Park, a new look Bray Wanderers side overcame Shelbourne early on Saturday evening.

The Seagulls took an early lead through Alan McNally before Robbie Creevy doubled their lead just after halftime. Energetic substitute James English halved the deficit for Shelbourne before Dean Kelly’s goal in final few minutes gave Wanderers a pre-season victory.

The signings of Andy Gorman and Alex Barry brings the Under 19s playing squad to 21.

Andy Gorman has re-signed having already competed for two seasons at U19s having come from Shels academy. Andy will be in his last year U19 and is an exciting wide player.

Alex Barry is a new signing having played for Dundalk for last two seasons at 19s, He played his schoolboy football with Malahide United and was part of the FAI emerging talent programme. Andy plays wide midfield.

The pre-season game scheduled for the AUL on Sunday next has been moved to Abbotstown.

The schedule of pre-season games confirmed, but subject to permission, is now:

Great to see members of Shelbourne’s Under 17 Elite SSE Airtricity League team, and their friends, taking part in the Cyclathon for CARE FOR CIAN at the Liffey Valley SC yesterday.

Pictured on the bikes here are Shels Fan Ryan Duff and U17s Midfielder Ross Strong. Out front collecting are Shels Fan Justyne Brennan and U17s right full Nathan Doyle.

Well done to everyone who took part in this fund raising event over the two days.
