Established in 1895, Shelbourne Football Club stands as a premier professional football club in Dublin. With a remarkable record of 13 League of Ireland titles, 10 national cups, two Women’s National League championships, and two FAI Women’s Cups, Shelbourne FC has solidified its place in Irish football history. We compete in both the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division and FAI Women’s National League, while nurturing over 400 talented boys and girls through our thriving Academy in the AUL in Dublin.

Role Overview:

As a Content & Social Media Executive at Shelbourne FC, you will spearhead our marketing and communication endeavours. Collaborating closely with the CEO, Executive Committee members, our Commercial Director, our Head of Media and Communications, and a dedicated team of volunteers, you will be instrumental to the growth and success of our brand in Irish football and beyond.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans and strategies to drive fan engagement, enhance the club’s brand image, increase ticket sales, and generate revenue.
  • Assume ownership of diverse marketing and communication initiatives, including content creation, website management, email marketing, offline channels, and more, all under-pinned with a heavy focus on social media
  • Manage various marketing administrative tasks, content scheduling, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Safeguard and enforce brand guidelines across all touchpoints, guaranteeing consistent and captivating brand representation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyse and report on marketing campaigns, delivering invaluable insights on performance, customer engagement, and ROI.
  • Devise initiatives to engage and grow the fan base, including organising fan events and social media campaigns.
  • Work closely with the Commercial Director to ensure agreed upon exposure for sponsors.
  • Oversee advertising campaigns, including digital marketing, print and outdoor advertising, to promote matches, ticket sales, merchandise, and club events.
  • Develop and implement effective social media strategies, manage the club’s social media accounts, create engaging content, and monitor online conversations.
  • Manage the generation of compelling content to engage fans and promote the club across various platforms.
  • Coordinate promotional activities and marketing campaigns around matches, events, and other club-related activities. Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure successful event execution.
  • Monitor and analyse marketing performance metrics, prepare regular reports, and present insights and recommendations to management.

Requirements:

  • Passion for social media to captivate audiences.
  • Demonstrate an ability in crafting and managing engaging social media content across platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, as well as impactful email campaigns.
  • Exhibit strong organisational acumen, effortlessly juggling multiple marketing administrative tasks with utmost efficiency.
  • Embody a dual creative/analytical mindset, blending artistic flair with the ability to leverage data and metrics to evaluate marketing campaign performance, and make well-informed recommendations.
  • Display exceptional written and verbal communication skills, adept at presenting ideas with eloquence and fostering seamless collaboration within a team environment.
  • Possess self-motivation, proactivity, and the ability to thrive both independently and within a collaborative team setting.
  • Radiate a profound passion for sports and an authentic interest in fan engagement.

Salary and Benefits:

Working Hours:

  • Tuesday to Saturday, 9am-6pm Irish Time, with flexibility to accommodate key football dates.
