Shelbourne’s U19s, managed by Martin Murray, opened their 2016 season with a 1-1 draw away to Longford Town in City Calling Stadium.
Shels took the lead after five minutes with a well worked move, ending with Cian Fogarty putting George Mukete in to score. Shels dominated a large portion of the first half, but failed to add to there lead.
Longford got a foothold in the second half and controversially equalised in the 63rd minute from a penalty that many thought was a free for Shelbourne. As much as they tried, the young Shels couldn’t get a winner.
