Central defender Mick Leahy scored twice as UCD made it ten league games unbeaten to move to within three points of leaders Finn Harps as Shelnbourne’s four-match winning run came to an end.

Leahy put College in front on the half hour when heading home a flick-on by Dylan Watts from skipper Robbie Benson’s corner.

Shelbourne hit back to level 12 minutes into the second half with a terrific curling shot from the edge of the area by defender Adam O’Connor.

But Leahy won it for UCD on 78 minutes. Once again it stemmed from a corner with Leahy heading past Greg Murray.
