Shelbourne Football Club would like to thank The 1895 Trust for their continued support.
The independent Shelbourne FC supporters trust have paid €1,550 to fund the purchase and training for an AED for the Shelbourne FC WNL side.
The Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is a machine that is used to treat cardiac arrest, the device plays a vital role in saving lives.
The 1895 Trust is an independent supporter’s trust founded by Shelbourne FC fans in October 2012. Last season they came on board as official media partner, and the funds from that sponsorship agreement have played a vital role in the development of LOItv’s enhanced coverage of our WNL fixtures.
Each team is required to have their own portable AED on the bench, this is mandatory in UEFA competitions. The Reds face ZNK Pomurje in the UEFA Women’s Champions League, Round One in Murska Sobota on August 18th.
All four matches in Group One of Round One involving The Reds, Valur, FC Hayasa and hosts ZNK Pomurje will take place in towns of Radenci and Murska Sobota. A number of Shels supporters will make the trip, including members of The 1895 Trust.
The Reds will face ZNK Pomurje (Slovenia) in the Round One Semi-Final at the Fazanerija Stadium in Murska Sobota at 17:30 CET on August 18, 2022.
The second Round One Semi-Final between Valur (Iceland) and FC Hayasa (Armenia) will take place at Radenci Sportspark in Radenci at 11:00 CET on August 18, 2022.
The final will take place on August 21 at 17:30 CET in Murska Sobota at Fazanerija Stadium between the two Semi-Final winners.
The Third-Place Play-Off will take place on the same date at 11:00 CET in Radenci at Radenci Sportspark.

Liam Ward, Licensing Officer, Shelbourne FC said: “We’re very conscious of the need to have an AED available in case of emergencies and that having one close by can make all the difference in giving assistance as quickly as possible. The 1895 Trust’s generous sponsorship allows us to have one pitch-side at training as well as on the bench on match days. It also allowed us to train some staff members and stewards and to service the AED in Tolka Park so the funds have been put to very effective use in improving safety for both players and spectators.”
