Team news – St Pats v Shels

Posted on

Shelbourne boss Damien Duff has called on the travelling Reds fanbase “to be the 12th and 13th man” as his squad faces injury doubts to some players ahead of tomorrow’s Dublin Derby.

Duff says his squad are “down to the bare bones” and will have a number of Academy players on the bench tomorrow.

“We’re not far away from asking some of the Briogaird Dearg to play,” he said.

Despite this, the Shels Manager said his players are “raring to go.”

Shels will monitor a number of injuries in the squad before tomorrow after Brian McManus, Dan Hawkins and Sean McSweeney were among those missing last week.

“We’re probably facing the most amount of injuries we’ve had this year,” Duff told shelbournefc.ie.

“But the lads can’t wait and are obviously in good form with the two wins on the bounce. It’s the first time the club has done that in nine years which is important to make these little markers on the way together,” he added.

“If there’s any time in the season that we need the fans it’s now to pull us through to the summer break,” Duff said.

The Shels boss and Alan Quinn will serve the last of their three match ban tomorrow.
