Shelbourne FC Heritage Committee and 1895 Trust collaborate to celebrate 30 years since famous Men’s FAI cup triumph in 1996

To celebrate 30 years since our famous Men’s FAI cup triumph in 1996, the 1895 Trust and the Shelbourne FC Heritage Committee have collaborated to mark this special occasion with a night of celebration on June 20th, 2026 at 730pm.

The evening will feature archive clips, stories and appearances from some of the players who played key roles in the dramatic events of both the Cup Final and the replay. Players confirmed to attend will be announced in due course.

The event is free to attend and all are welcome. We encourage supporters to attend our women’s team game against Sligo Rovers at 4pm, and make a day out of it.

Siobhán Bermingham, Chairperson of the Shelbourne FC Heritage Committee said:

“We are very excited to collaborate with the 1895 Trust in hosting this event. The committee volunteers have been extremely busy in recent months, delivering great initatives to educate and inform fans. This night should be another important step forward in this regard.”

Lee Daly, Chairperson of The 1895 Trust said:

“Whilst we have hosted similar events before, the involvement of the Heritage committee in this special evening adds another dimension. The event will be fun for all our fans, but newer and younger fans would especially benefit from immersing themselves in our great history. If you would like to support our work, you can join the trust at https://the1895trust.com/join/“
