Karl Sheppard

Karl Sheppard joined Shelbourne FC on November 6 ahead of the club’s return to the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division.

Sheppard, 28, spent five fruitful seasons with Cork City, winning the league title in 2017 and the FAI Cup in 2016 and 2017. He revealed last month that his time on Leeside was over and Shels boss Ian Morris secured his much sought after signature.

Sheppard spent some time with Shels as a schoolboy, but he made his first steps into the League of Ireland with Galway United in 2010 before moving to Shamrock Rovers where he won a league crown in 2011.

After a spell a Reading, and then a second stint with the Hoops, he linked up with John Caulfield in Cork, establishing himself further as a hard-working and versatile attacker who proved crucial to the club’s success in that era.
