The return of Will Jarvis to Tolka Park on loan from Hull City until the end of the 2024 season.

Jarvis’ return to Shels will be warmly welcomed by staff, players and supporters, the Englishman made an immediate impact after arriving in Dublin midway through the 2023 season.

The attacker made 12 appearances for Damien Duff’s side scoring 3 vitally important goals as the Reds secured a top four finish and qualified for Europe after St Pats Cup final win.

The 21-year-old scored his first Shels goal against Cork City in September 2023 in a 2-1 win at Tolka Park, he netted the winner against Dundalk the following month, before helping the Reds come from 2-0 down on the final day to win 4-2 in Drogheda, with Jarvis scoring the leveller.

The capture of the highly rated Jarvis is a significant boost for the Reds ahead of the new season. The York native came through the Hull City academy, having joined the club at U12 level. Jarvis is seen as a top prospect at his parent club. In August 2023, he signed a new two-year deal with Hull City.

Jarvis has played at senior level for the Championship club, having made his debut for the Tigers in August 2021, coming off the bench against Wigan Athletic in the first round of the Carabao Cup and scoring his penalty in the shootout. He made his league debut a week later against Derby County in the Championship.

In January 2022, Jarvis joined National League North side York City on a one-month loan deal, making two appearances. A few months later, he joined Scarborough Athletic, netting on his debut in a 2-1 victory over Atherton Collieries.

During his time with the club, Jarvis scored four goals in 10 appearances, helping Scarborough win promotion to the National League North.

In August 2022, Jarvis rejoined Scarborough on an initial one-month youth loan, in his second spell, he featured five times, scoring once.

Damien Duff, Shelbourne FC Head Coach said: “It’s amazing news that Will is coming back, even better that he wants to come. His impact on the team was there for everyone to see, he is a special player. We look forward to working with Will again and helping him grow on and off the pitch. Thank you to Hull also for making it happen. The partnership might have ended but the relationship remains strong.”

Will Jarvis said: “I had a great experience at Shels last season so I was really delighted to get the chance to come back. The club helped me grow and develop last season and I am really excited to kick on again this season. It’s a great group of players and the staff have been brilliant with me. We achieved our goal of a top four finish and Europe last season and I’m really excited to see what this season holds. It’s a very ambitious group and I’ve loved playing at Tolka, the fans create an amazing atmosphere, when I heard Shels wanted me back, it was a no brainer for me.”
