2026 is set to be a marquee season for Paddy Barrett as he enters it with the mantle of Club Captain for the first time. Following on the heels of illustrious captains like Mark Coyle and Luke Byrne, Paddy will undoubtedly be aiming to put his stamp on things by leading Shels to a stellar season.

Paddy Barrett moved from St Patrick’s Athletic to Shelbourne before the start of the 2023 season and has never looked back. His courageous defending and keen eye for a pass has drawn supporters to him and his performances on the field are every inch that of a captain and a leader.

Barrett has previously won the FAI Cup on two separate occasions and has three league titles to his name. The most recent coming in the red of Shelbourne in the glorious 2024 campaign. As club captain you can bet he will be doing everything in his power to add to that tally in 2026.
