2025 was the season that saw Nia Hannon really make her mark in the Shelbourne first team. Another graduate of the excellent Reds’ Academy, Nia made thirteen league appearances in 2025 and was unequivocally the most improved player of the season at Tolka Park.
Often deployed on the right-side of three central defenders, Nia blended pace, acumen on the ball and a reading of the game that was mature beyond her years. A former Dublin Minor Gaelic Footballer, Nia certainly doesn’t lack for athleticism, and she puts that to excellent use in her defensive game.
Nia will certainly be hoping that she can continue to build on the fantastic platform that she gave herself in 2025 and further cement her place in this new-look Shels’ side of 2026.
