Owen Heary’s Assistant Confirmed

Liam Kelly has been confirmed as Shelbourne Manager Owen Heary’s assistant.

Liam played for Shelbourne for the 1997/98 & 1998/99 seasons having joined from Home Farm.

After his time with the Reds he joined St. Patrick’s Athletic and spent four years there before joining Shamrock Rovers, when Pat’s went full-time. Soon after joining Rovers he suffered a groin injury which kept him out. On his return, he went out on loan to Longford Town. He retired, however, in 2005 after a reoccurance of the injury.

Following his retirement from playing. Kelly embarked on a career in management. After a year managing Loughshinny, he joined Balbriggan club, Glebe North as manager. He has been with ‘Glebe’ up until the end of the 2015/16 season.

Also today, it was announced that Sodiq Oguntola, by mutual agreement, has been released by the club.
