Shelbourne travel across the city to Tallaght, on Sunday afternoon, for their game with Shamrock Rovers, in Division One of the SSE Airtricity League. Kick-off at Tallaght Stadium is 2.00pm
Last weekend saw Shelbourne defeat Waterford United 3-1 at Tolka Park to remain in second place in the league table, a point behind Longford Town. The goals on Friday were scored by Jordan Keegan, Gareth Coughlan and league debutant Adam McDonnell for Shelbourne, while Conor Whittle replied for Waterford.
The same night saw Galway FC put five past Shamrock Rovers without reply, the ‘Hoops’ remaining in seventh position in the league table.
The two games played between Shelbourne and Shamrock Rovers this season have ended in draws, 1-1 in Tallaght, with goals from Daniel Purdy and Brian Gannon, and 0-0 in Tolka Park.
Willo McDonagh and Keith Quinn continue to serve suspensions imposed following the games against Longford Town and Cobh Ramblers respectively.
Manager Johnny McDonnell’s injury worries continue to pile up, with John Sullivan, Brian Gannon, Adam O’Connor and Darren Tinnelly set to miss the fixture through injury, while Jordan Keegan underwent an appendectomy on Wednesday.

Shelbourne host Bradford City at Tolka Park on Saturday (ko – 3.00pm), as part of their Macron Festival of Football series of mid-season friendlies.
To mark the 10th anniversary of Shelbourne’s great run in Europe, the 2004 side will play the Ireland Over 40s in Tolka Park on Wednesday, August 13th. All proceeds go to the “Care for Cian” fund.
