Joey O’Brien joins back room team at Shelbourne

Shelbourne FC is delighted to confirm former Republic of Ireland international Joey O’Brien has joined the Club as part of Damien Duff’s coaching staff. 

O’Brien played five times for the Republic of Ireland as well as a brilliant career in England with West Ham United, Bolton Wanderers and Sheffield Wednesday. 

O’Brien has won the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division and FAI Cup with Shamrock Rovers as well as the English Football League Championship Play-Offs with West Ham United. 

Along with great European experience, Joey joins the Shelbourne staff with terrific coaching pedigree. 

After joining Shelbourne, Joey O’Brien said: “I’m really excited to begin a new chapter of my career in football at Shelbourne and feel together with Damien and the staff, there is serious potential for us to build something great at the Club. 

“We know the Club has a massive history and we’re looking forward to getting down to work together to help build the next step in that history. We will be absolutely committed to providing a great environment for our players and staff and hope 2022 will be a great one for the Club and it’s fanbase.”
