Irish gym chain FLYEfit has been announced as the new headline and front of jersey sponsor of Shelbourne Football Club.

The news comes as Shelbourne FC prepares to celebrate its 125th year and to make its return to the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division and as FLYEfit gets ready to open its sixteenth SuperGym at the Jervis Shopping Centre in Dublin this February.

FLYEfit is stepping up its support for the club having first come on board as a back of jersey sponsor for the hugely successful 2019 season and the new sponsorship agreement includes the club’s men’s and women’s teams.

The sponsorship also includes the Shelbourne FC Youth Academy with FLYEfit securing the naming rights to the Shelbourne FC Summer Camps and annual 5-a-side tournament. The Academy has over 350 underage players and its summer camps attract hundreds of young players.

“We are delighted that FLYEfit has become our headline sponsor for the 2020 season and that it is strengthening and extending its support for the club. FLYEfit have been a fantastic partner and we look forward to working with them to deliver success on and off the pitch,” said David O’Connor, CEO at Shelbourne FC.

“Our players are familiar faces at FLYEfit gyms and its gym in Drumcondra is conveniently located close to our home ground in Tolka Park. FLYEfit’s gyms are packed with high performance equipment and a passionate team of Personal Trainers who have helped our players to stay on top of their game,” he added.

“We look forward to working together throughout the 2020 season to maintaining our winning form and to developing our Youth Academy. FLYEfit will play an integral role on all fronts and we are especially excited at how their support will help us to attract young players to join our summer camps and to play football,” he continued.

FLYEfit is now the largest, most popular and most well recognised gym brand operating in Ireland with 70,000 members across 15 locations. It is expanding rapidly and its new gym at the Jervis Shopping Centre will occupy two floors as FLYEfit takes its place amongst the most recognised high-street brands located in the vibrant shopping centre.

“We are delighted to extend our support for Shelbourne FC and to become their headlinesponsor. We look forward to supporting the club as it works to develop its men’s, women’s and Youth Academy teams. We especially share its passion for being part of the local community and encouraging young people to get active and to play sport,” said Orla Reddy, Marketing Manager at FLYEfit.
