Lifelong Shels fan and current first team coach Davy O’Connor is currently training to run 10 marathons in 10 days from April 20 to April 29. He is doing this in aid of mental health charity Aware.

Davy has decided to complete the challenge, which has a total distance of 262 miles, 330 yards, on an athletics track in ALSAA.

“The reason I have chosen an athletics track for this challenge is to symbolise the isolation, pain & never-ending feeling associated with various degrees of mental health illness,” Davy said.

“The positive angle is that if you surround yourself with the right people & develop the right mindset, then anything is possible.”

We urge all Shelbourne supporters to get behind Davy in any way you can. If anyone is in a position to offer a financial contribution, however big or small, they can do so at the link below.
