Early goals from Sean Russell and Conor Murphy were enough to beat Cobh Ramblers at Tolka Park as Shelbourne moved to within three points of leaders Longford Town overnight.

Russell ended a fine passing move to score his first goal since joining Shels in the July transfer window inside the opening minute.

Striker Murphy added the second goal on 16 minutes.
