Shelbourne Football Club has today announced the first signing for the 2010 campaign.
Goalkeeper Dean Delany, who has been with the Tolka Park side for the past two seasons, signed on the dotted line to extend his stay with the Reds. Delany was previously with Shelbourne for three years, from 2004 to 2006, before breaking his service with the Drumcondra club, by joining Waterford United for the 2007 season.
Dean joined Everton as a schoolboy in 1997 and went on to play a key part in thier successful 1998 FA Youth Cup winning team. He left Everton in 2000, joining Port Vale where he played for four seasons before joining Shelbourne.
Delany played for Ireland's Under 18 team, when they won the 1998 European Championship. He also played in the same championship a year later when the took third position. He has also received numerous caps at Under 20 and Under 21 level.
Dean had an outstanding season in 2009, playing in all but one of Shelbourne's games in the Division One League campaign.
